Never is the concept of home more freighted than at the holiday season. “Home for the Holidays” is perhaps the most frequently used marketing slogan. Some stories in the Christmas Vacation or Best Christmas Pageant Ever touch on the idea of grace in the midst of chaos but don’t offer reasonable choices. Where is the model for a healthy home—physically, mentally, and spiritually? And if we have managed to create it during the year, how do we extend that peace at Christmastime?
